HOW TO MAKE OREO DIRT CAKE RECIPE

I'll probably use this recipe are modify it a bit next time I make dirt cake.

I remember trying dirt cake for the first time at a birthday party when I was like...7 or 8.  It was unlike anything I had ever had. One bite and my eyes shot open to the size of dinner plates. I started shaking and salivating and inhaled my tiny bowl of it so fast I barely tasted it. I think I swallowed the spoon. People started to look at me, but I didn't care. I grabbed the bucket containing the rest of the dirt cake and stuck my face in it. Pudding and oreo was flying out and splattering on people. Men try to restrain me. Women fainted in disgust. The other kids were crying and wailing. But I didn't care. By the time it was over, I had collapsed onto the floor gripping the bucket.  In a futile effort to salvage what little dignity I may have had left, I held my hand out and "no! Dont look at meeeeee!"

Yeah...  that's how I discovered dirt cake. What a day.

I ate theese in pre-K! They would put gummy worms on the top to really seal the deal on the “dirt” theme๐Ÿ˜‚

That looks delicious! When I was a kid, I made mud pudding snacks with Oreos in them! This kinda reminds me of those, but with vanilla pudding instead of chocolate.

You could even mix match different types of oreos and make it a kind of surprise oreo flavor dessert!

Hi Tami, it kind of reminds me of a trifle.

Looks delish. I wonder about taking that dirt cake and baking it into an oreo pie crust, then topping it with a fudge ganache. Too sweet?

The dirt cake recipe I use calls for chocolate pudding instead of vanilla. The Oreos are ground up in the food processor without the cream filling and then I use a terra cotta, ceramic or plastic planter/pot and fill it with the mixture in layers. The last layer is the ground Oreos and a sprig of mint or basil with a little scoop or a tiny shovel  stuck in off to the side or placed in the saucer. I put it as a centre piece and no one knows it’s the dessert until it’s time to serve it :) I’ve also used smaller terra-cotta pots with a larger terra-cotta pot and put various edible herbs into the mini pots to look like a little herb garden centre piece. The kids love “eating dirt” for their dessert :) The ground up Oreos really does    look just like dirt
